ADRIANA research project
Airborne Spectral Detection of Reusable Industrial Materials in Waste Rock Piles and Tailings
In the ADRIANA project, modern remote sensing methods will be used together with classical exploration methods and state of the art resource modelling methods to develop a workflow for quantifying valuable materials in tailings and waste rock piles. Moreover, innovative processing methods are to be developed. The studies will be carried out exemplarily at Erdenet's site in Mongolia together with the German partners Dimap-Spektral GmbH, CBM Society for Consulting, Business and Management mbH and the Geo Remote Sensing and Cartography Division of the Institute of Geosciences and Geography of the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg as well as the Mongolian partners German-Mongolian Institute for Resources and Technology (GMIT), the Erdenet Mining Corporation (EMC) and the Erdenet Institute of Technology. The project is coordinated by G.E.O.S..
The ADRIANA project is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research. ADRIANA is a joint project under the programme "CLIENT II - International Partnerships for Sustainable Innovation" in the framework programme "Research for Sustainable Development - FONA³".
