TenneT starts test operation of NordLink - Project management and monitoring services by G.E.O.S. successfully completed

TenneT has started the test operation of NordLink, the green cable for the interconnection of Norwegian hydropower and German wind energy. This is the first time that the Norwegian and German electricity markets have been directly connected. The green cable is hereby integrated into the European electricity market and can supply around 3.6 million households with climate-neutral energy.

As a reliable partner, G.E.O.S. provided customised project management, planning, construction supervision and OHS management services for the NordLink project in the section of the land cable route with around 30 engineers at peak times. With the start of test operation, G.E.O.S.'s on-site work is largely complete.

Completion of the power link to facilitate the transfer of Norwegian hydropower and German wind energy is scheduled for spring 2021.
