Construction supervision of the NordLink land cable route

The NordLink project is the first transnational 1,400 MW high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission link from southern Norway to Germany (Schleswig-Holstein) with a route length of approx. 623 kilometres. NordLink was scheduled to go into operation in autumn 2020 and is one of the most significant projects in the European energy sector. NordLink will enable the transmission of renewable energies such as hydropower from Norway and wind power from Germany. For this purpose, 516 kilometres of submarine cable will be laid offshore and 53 kilometres of overhead line onshore in Norway and 54 kilometres of underground cable in Germany (Büsum to Wilster).

For this project, G.E.O.S. was entrusted with the construction supervision in the area of the land cable between Büsum and Wilster.
