Hydrogeological and geothermal reference maps compiled

Preparation of the hydrogeological baseline maps as well as the basis for the geothermal map series and derivation of the topics hydrogeological sections, maps on the protective function of the groundwater overburden and geothermal energy for Zittau and Neugersdorf-East

The 3D mapping project is part of the fast-track programme by the Saxon state government for the geothermal atlas of Saxony. For this purpose, G.E.O.S. is creating area-wide 3D models for Zittau and Neugehrsdorf at a scale of 1:50,000. The technical basis are the hydrogeological survey and mapping guidelines of Saxony.

Our Services

  • 3D modelling with GIS-based database coupling of the modelling software SURPAC-VISION
  • Modelling of approx. 70 stratigraphic units with partly small-scale distributions
  • Inclusion of more than 10,000 geological outcrops in the mapping area.

Range of services in detail

  • Comprehensive data research on the geological and hydrogeological data (analogue and digital sources), including stratigraphic data, analytical data and characteristic values
  • Preparation of geological cross-sections for the basic visualisation of the regional geological model in the mapping area
  • New acquisitions, updating and revision of hydrogeological data with UHYDRO32
  • Dynamic maintenance / updating of the geological reference profile according to the current state of knowledge
  • Modification of all outcrops to be used according to the technical and modelling requirements of the 3D modelling
  • Map margin adjustment to the map sheets "Bautzen/Görlitz (western part)", "Bischofswerda/Sebnitz /Neugersdorf (western part)" as well as the map sheet "Görlitz (eastern part)" processed within the framework of the cross-border project TransGeotherm
  • Integration of the results of the cross-border project GRACE
  • Construction of the hydrogeological volumes with the 3D software SURPAC-VISION
  • Generation of the hydrogeological sections from the validated 3D data set
  • Raising the topic 'protective function of the groundwater overburden'
  • Compilation of results and data transfer
